IONOS recently conducted a study looking into entrepreneurship in the UK and they found that more people want to go self-employed because of the pandemic. Five hundred British people were asked about their working lives and career dreams. The biggest discovery? Digitalisation is the more important aspect of running a business for future founders.
The Importance of Digitalisation in New Businesses
New opportunities
For more than 40% of the participants, self-employment and self assessment is more appealing since the pandemic. But why? What has changed? Find out in the free ebook “British Dreams and Wishes: A Business Survey”
Business ideas are changing
For those of us that have dreams of starting a business, our ideas can often change. For 15.4% of participants, it’s the same case. They stated that they would abort their original business plans and change to an entirely different industry altogether since the pandemic has revealed new opportunities.
It’s not just business ideas that are changing, but how they would run too. More than 24% recognise the importance of having an online presence like Facebook business pages for their future brands, something they thought wasn’t essential before the pandemic.
The future is digital
The importance of digitalisation doesn’t stop there – it seems analogue business models are on their way out too. For 23% of the participants, a digital business model was preferred.
Sixty-nine percent of participants went as far as to say that digitalisation actually makes starting a business easier!
